Lausanne, Switzerland – December 11, 2013. The Renault-Nissan Alliance is the latest organization to announce its support as Official Partner of the Beijing 2013 SportAccord World Mind Games, the top international multi-sports event which features 150 of the world’s best mind sports players from 40 countries and regions annually.
In addition to visibility through TV broadcast and live streaming in 300 million homes, the Renault-Nissan Alliance will become the main partner of the Beijing 2013 SportAccord World Mind Games online tournaments. The online tournaments have a cumulative participation of 700,000 players and are set up in partnership with the biggest platforms in China and worldwide. Renault-Nissan will offer prestigious prizes such a Nissan Tiida compact car and a Renault Koleos compact SUV.
China is Nissan’s single largest passenger car market worldwide, with 1.25 million vehicles sold last year. Just last week, Nissan’s long-time partner Renault announced that it will soon begin industrial operations in China, the largest car market globally.
“As the Renault-Nissan Alliance continues to invest for the future growth of the Chinese automotive industry, it makes sense for us to expand our visibility through supporting important cultural and sporting events,” said Renault-Nissan Director of Marketing Communication Simon Sproule. “We are proud to support the people of China and the city of Beijing as they host this year’s SportAccord World Mind Games.”
SportAccord President, Mr Marius L. Vizer said: “We are delighted that the Renault-Nissan Alliance will be joining the line-up of partners of the third edition of the SportAccord World Mind Games. Renault-Nissan’s association with the Event and the online tournaments will provide an opportunity to reach millions of loyal mind sports fans in China and around the world.”
