The first edition of the SportAccord World Mind Games in Beijing has been a great success. Thanks to the Beijing authorities, the Beijing Sports Bureau (BSB), the Beijing Olympic Development Authority (BODA), the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA), the five participating federations of Chess, Bridge, Draughts, Go and Xiangqi, and the official partners Rado and Samsung.
All results, information will be available on line. People around the world will be able to follow the event online through SportAccord dedicated web site. Featuring several Blitz versions, the competition formats are designed to be attractive for spectators. To promote the first edition of SportAccord World Mind Games which will take place from 8-16 December 2011 in Beijing SportAccord World Mind Games Online Tournament has been organized for each of the mind sports participating in the SportAccord World Mind Games; Bridge, Chess, Draughts, Go and Xiangqi. The Tournaments used the biggest existing online platforms.
An agreement has been signed for the 1st SportAccord World Mind Games which will be hosted in Beijing, China, from 8-17 December 2011. The event will be composed of the four mind sports – Bridge, Chess, Go, Draughts which are all members of IMSA and SportAccord. Xiang Qi has also been invited to participate.
Winners, medallists and players will receive attractive prize money from a prize fund of US$1 million depending on their ranking.
