Asian Zonal Chess Championship 2013 for Zone 3.2 started in a grand manner on 3rd February at the Mas Park Guest House, Thulhiriya in Sri Lanka with 4 GMs, 1M and 2WIMs in the total number of 46 participation. GMs, Ziaur Rahman, Niyaz Murshed, Ennamul Hussain and Reefat Bin-Satter of Bangladesh, IM Mahmood Lodhi of Pakistan, FMs Sunil Weeramantry (Sri Lanka) and Sujendra Shrestha are among the 34 players participate in the event. Players from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka are participating in the event.

The World Chess Championship Match 2012 has come to its end. The closing ceremony of the match was conducted by the Chairman of the Russian Chess Federation Board Ilya Levitov. At the beginning of the ceremony Alexander Zhukov, the President of the Russian IOC, the 1st Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation State Duma delivered a speech.
